I haave Messenger Plus installed on my computer. And I recently ran a check for spyware using “SpyBot – Search and Destroy”. The program identified Messenger Plus as being spyware.
Is Plus spyware or is it the program being over protective?
Please refer to THIS THREAD. MsgPlus has a sponsor program that at one point contained a program classified as spyware. I'm not sure if it is in the new version, but you can opt out of the sponsor install during installation. Uninstall Plus and reinstall an updated version and make sure to uncheck the sponsor agreement during installation.
Thats down to msn including progs that were classified as spy ware you realy should get the name of the spyware and look it up via http://www.yahoo.com or http://www.google.com and then you should be abble to read a description
Ok thanks, but are you sure its Microsoft? Because SpyBot identified the Spyware being in the Messenger Plus files, not the actual MSN Messenger files….
I'll try the new MSN Plus anyway, but thanks again.
It classified it as Spyware because it found the file Lop.com. BUT Patchou is using Lop.com's adware not spyware.
Like Shifter said, its completely optional. Its all up to you. And gaz, SpyBot gives out discriptions to most of the files that are infecting computers. You just have to make sure you choose to read them.
