Since I installed the new version of Messenger, if I don’t use it for 15 minutes, I get an error message. Messenger then closes. What is causing this?
whats the error message?is there an error code?
It says, “Ypager has caused an error in Unknown. Ypager will now close.”
I’ve deleted messenger and reinstalled several times. And it doesn’t change anything.
Make sure you have all your Window Updates and the latest verstion of Macromedia Flash.

I have the same problem, what can we do?
First, try to clear the ypager log located in the Yahoo! folder (by default it is located in C:/Program Files/Yahoo!/Messenger. See if it will resolve your problem.
If that doesn’t work,re-installation of the application usually resolves this problem.
To trim down the possible culprits, you have to make sure first that:
1. Your PC is healthy, i.e, malware-free, all updates (as S.A.I.D pointed out above) are downloaded.
2.You are not using any skinning software (for XP users only)such as Windowblinds, AlienGUIse etc. If in case you do have those skinning apps, check other threads discussing those apps.
3.When uninstalling the application, check this thread.
You should have your Y!M working perfectly.
If after doing all of my suggestions above, post back.

I have the very same problem.. and I’m having it on 2 different computers. Heck one is brand new and up to the minute in software. I’ve had to stay with the older version of Messenger which I think will make me obsolete.
