ok, so before i start a video call with my friends, i set the microphone volume to the highest first (in control panel)
then i realise that after i start a video call, the microphone volume keeps dropping, and when i am done, i have to set it back manually….
can i have the microphone volume fixed to max everytime?

One suggestion was to open the sound settings from control panel and then leave them open while WLM is running. Don’t minimize it, just go ahead and open WLM and start your conversation. I’ve heard of cases where it helps, and those where it does not. It’s easy enough to try though and there’s nothing to lose.

More information is here: Windows 7 Sound: Stream Switching in the Real World
Another possibility is that the volume is adjusting because you’re too close to the microphone. I’m not aware of any facility in WLM that does this, however.
