I saw this on the news today and thought it was a very touching/heartbreaking/anger provoking story.
ABC News wrote:A Brazilian mother who put her baby into a plastic bag and then tossed it into a lake is the latest example of new mothers who put their children in harm’s way. Simone da Silva was arrested and charged with attempted murder after a couple pulled the 2-month-old baby girl from Pampulha Lagoon in Belo Horizonte, Brazil.
“I couldn’t stay with her,” Silva told police. “I did not have a minimum psychological condition to stay with her.”
The Brazilian baby was released from the hospital on Monday, two days after she was rescued from the lake. Several people have expressed interested in adopting the child.

How can someone toss out a child like a dead animal? It’s a messed up world, but fortunately this lil trooper pulled through. 🙂
The baby certainly is a lucky one, that he is still alive:)… and that he is not born in any 3rd world country otherwise… 🙁
True that yo! I saw the video on tv again today. Really is incredible. She looks like a little doll. Heck I’d want to adopt her! How can you just get rid of a little life like that is beyond my comprehension. No matter what difficulties there are ways to make sure your baby survives aka adoption.
(So what? I have a soft spot for babies. So sue me!)
it’s a shame how so many idiots can have a child, but those who have difficulty conceiving their own child have to wait MONTHS or YEARS to get paperwork for adoption to go through.
I don’t get how someone could just get rid of a baby like that. I know I never could. Amazing she survived.
