Hi folks,
I am new here… didn’t have much need of IM before, but now it seems the best way to keep in touch with all my friends since i am moving to another country. As a novice, i first installed the latest ICQ… but then i wondered if i could get anything better…
I saw trillian, but i didn’t really understand much of how it handles other IMs and what features it has (i will need more time to study the website).
However, i found this very nice IM on Sourceforge called Miranda ICQ ( http://sourceforge.net/projects/miranda-icq/ ) that is an opensource program and seems to be ok for me… also because you can add the plugins with the features you need and get rid of the things you don’t want.
I wonder if is there anybody here who uses it and can give me his/her impressions.
Basically what i would like from a IM is: chat (possibly with multiple users) and the Sms feature like ICQ. I also would like voice-chat, but i guess it won’t be that useful once i get my connection within a LAN where not even NetMeeting works…
Thanks
Francesco
