not sure how to explain this…when i go to move a window on the monitor it doesnt move like it should..i can see the out line of the window being moved but it doesnt completely move until i let go of the cursor…any ideas…was told it might be a virtual memory issue….i just formatted my pc this past sunday so cant understand what is going on…that was one of the reason for the format..and it went away…til today…i cant do a system restore have tried that…am using a dell xp….any help would so save my pc from being thrown in the yard lol….just dont have a clue what is lagging pc…help plz
February 27, 2010 at 4:51 pm #176719Doris KenneyParticipantDid you just reinstall some piece of software the day or so before it started happening again? Or do an update to anything already installed? Even Windows? Sometimes unrelated programs can conflict with each other.
Only thing I know to suggest beyond thinking of possible conflicts is to make sure you have the latest drivers for your video & graphics.
You could do a system restore to a few days ago and see if it goes away. If so, pay particular attention to anything you change on the machine and maybe you can identify what’s causing it.

February 27, 2010 at 6:59 pm #176720donnabMemberyes i did a windows xp (kb979306) update…and that is when i noticed the problem was back…i did try an do a system restore back to the day that i formatted this pc…almost a week ago an it wouldnt let me do a restore…i also went into add/remove program an uninstalled the the latest windows update an i still have the same problem i will check the drivers again…this is annoyin thanks for your reply
February 27, 2010 at 8:10 pm #176721donnabMemberi ran the driver detective program an it told me i have 5 drivers out of date then it ask me for money isnt there something out there that is safe an offers the help like that program does:( i will google an read on each of these drivers it said was outdate an hope to find help there…sighssss

February 27, 2010 at 10:16 pm #176722donnabMemberThanks David that fixed the problem….:woot: i would have never known to look there….but what about the driver issues those programs said i have…when i just formatted less than a week ago with the help of dell tech…and they said i had the latest drivers installed…:confused:

If it ain’t broke, don’t fix it. 🙂
March 6, 2010 at 3:27 pm #176723donnabMemberwhy is it when i run my dell pc clean up program it resets the setting under systems….i hit apply an ok before leaving that section under the control panel an have to go back in a reset it each time?
