MemberHey, it’d be great if there were more Mac support. Great IM programs like Proteus and Fire don’t get any (?) mention while their PC counterparts get a whole page (they’re like Trillian/ Odigo – Multi IMers). There’s lot’s of tricks with iChat too, smeared out accross the internet. BBB is obviously the authority for PC IMing, but there’s very little Mac info…
thanks!
~PS. on the Odigo page, it says there’s a Mac version….when they moved to 4.0 it got left behind…again – but the Java verision works “OK”.

KeymasterSo true. We did recently have a member write an introduction to iChat, but since I don’t have a Mac, or access to one, I need to rely on other folks (like you?) who do.
Gotta Mac? Want to help balance out the site? You can help with articles, reviews, news, or tips and tricks. Feel free to email me if you’re interested.

When were the last time you used a Mac? I personally love Power Mac G4 and iMac, they are pretty faster and easy to use than your typical PCs (Personal Computers).
I remember going to a site that has a lot of free softwares for Mac, I cannot seem to remember the website address. I will try to look through for it.

MemberYou’ll be surprised that most Windows softwares will work on MACs using softwares like Virtual PC for Windows ( http://www.connectix.com/products/vpc5w.html )

ParticipantI use both Mac and PC at work and they both have there pros and cons. But it looks like the Mac is being phased out here due to the significant speeds and lower prices of the PC compared to the expensive Mac’s. Personally I would rather stick with a Mac for what I do (Which is graphic design and Giclée printing) but the PC works faster and cheaper. My old G3 (still only on OS8.6!!) at work is almost retired as its currently being used soley as a Print server, and all work is done on the PC. At home I run a PC as well so unfortunately as cool as Mac’s are, they have a ways to go still before a majority of people will cross over.
