MemberYeah I see that now… Looks like it is a big issue for Mozilla… I’ve noticed while on Firefox, texts in most threads (neopets.com) do not show while Internet Explorer does. I don’t think there is a way you could fix on Firefox.

MemberIt should block all pop-ups. Usually if it has blocked a pop up, it will state it in the bottom left corner with a box with an X in it. If you try clicking it again, it should open, or you can press shift+click. The only annoying feature is that it does not come with java script. So you have install an external app for that, but it doesnt really bother me – I just use internet explorer for the rare occassions like that!

Participantthe reason firefox doesnt show some things, like the glowing text, is because it simply doesnt support the code used for that effect. certain code only works on internet explorer, some only works on netscape, etc etc. it can be a good thing, since it helps prevent malicious code from running on your machine (like putting viruses/adaware/spyware on your system). it can also be slightly annoying when certain things dont work, but usually those arent really important things.
seb_thib_55 – on a side note, you should really learn to use the Edit button instead of making several posts one right after another… just find the
and click it…. also, you really dont need to end every sentence with a “!” just my opinion, as alwaysJuly 18, 2004 at 4:50 pm #75972Charles
MemberSeb Thib, perhaps the fact that the first picture in IE is of a thread for a font contest where they are trying to make their font look crappy like that. The second is of a different person using a different font. This isn’t much of an error; their fonts just aren’t as “pretty”– unless all fonts are supposed to look like this with that shadow thing. Persuade neopets to get some real Firefox compatibility.
It is the site’s fault for being poorly coded to display properly in Firefox, not Firefox’s fault.

MemberNicely said. These problems occur when designers build pages for IE and not for any other browser. A good designer would check his pages with several different browsers.

Participantseb_thib_55 – please refrain from double and triple posting, it’s extremely annonying to other members. If you forget to add something to your previous post, please use the Edit Button (
) above your last post. Thank you.As for your viewing problems, its not that Firefox is loading the images incorrectly, its just that that page has not been designed to basic web standards. Firefox is fully complaint with W3C standards, whereas IE is still buggy. Because 80=90% of users still use IE as there main browser, many sites only concern is for it to work in IE and don’t even test in other browsers. Most new sites, with competent coders/designers, will work fine in any and all up-to-date browsers. Don’t blame Firefox, it’s Microsofts fault for not adhering to web standards. If you don’t like it, don’t use it.
