I have a microsoft 4port wireless router and i have ip address for all of my computers including my xbox…im having a lot of trouble with all the computers….i cant connect to anyone on aim, nor can i host games online for xbox…my xbox also has an IP…im using 192.168.2.??? for the ips…DHCP is turned of..I would like a solution other than just turning on DMZ port for the main computer….it has to be some kind of port that i need to open up in order for AIM and the xbox tow ork..but i dont know the ports i need to open up for AIM.
please help:D
Well, I have had no luck with having the MS router foward any ports. If you want to try, port 21 is file transfer. Mine didn’t work when I tried. Maybe yours will.
21 is indeed for the file transfer protocol (FTP), but certainly not the standard for AIM file transfers. Port 5190 is the default port for AIM file transfers.
