I’m pulling my hair out here. Got this problem with MSN 6.1 thats really screwing with my PC.
See, whenever I try to install a program that I’ve downloaded off of the net I get the following error form MSN and the install fails – “Command line option syntax error. Type Command /? for help.”
I’ve uninstalled MSN 6.1, reinstalled Messenger and still get the error even though MSN 6.1 is supposed to be uninstalled.
Help, please.
HH.
Bump. Can anybody reply to this?

Rhiannon, you just did. Unfortunately, you didn’t help.
Hitch Hiker, what operating system are you running? I’ve NEVER heard of MSN causing a problem like this. Why exactly are you attributing it to MSN Messenger?
Are you using the MSN browser? Thats what this problem sounds like to me… if you are trying to download things from the web using MSN browser, this is not messenger. Its a part of the MSN software called the download manager. If this is the case, then the solution is to remove the software through control panel > add/remove programs, and then also delete the MSN folder: My Computer > Local disk C: > Program Files > MSN. After doing this, reinstall the MSN software from your CD and try again.
