MemberI just downloaded 6.2 this morning, and have so far been unable to get the damn thing working. I’ve reinstalled several times, restarted my computer and shut off my firewall, but at the moment MSN will only tell me the following error messages.
Quote:quote:The instruction at “0x0047d996” referenced memory at “0x00196000”. The memory could
not be “read”, Click on OK to terminate the program. The instruction at “00x77f5b2ab” referenced memory at “0x000000ac”. The memory
could not be “read”, Click on OK to terminate the program. The instruction at “0x0047479d” referenced memory at “0x00000000”. The memory could
not be “read”, Click on OK to terminate the program. These 3 error messages appear together, as soon as I close the first one the second it there and then the third. Sometimes only one of them opens, but im not sure why. I have also recieved the “MSN has encountered a problem and needs to close” message, but that hasnt occured again for a while. In case its of any importance, the PC is a p4 2.4 ghz, 512 DDR RAM, a broadband connection, and windows XP home edition. The only programs I have recently installed are the Kodak EasyShare stuff that comes with Kodak digital cameras, but that was installed yesterday before I even knew about MSN 6.2.
Thanks in advance for your help

EDIT: I restarted my PC again, and MSN is opening fine while I am offline, but when I try to log in I now recieve the “MSN Messenger has encountered a problem and needs to close” error every time. The whole error log is too big to post, but some info that might help:
Quote:quote:AppName: msnmsgr.exe AppVer: 6.2.0.137 ModName: oleaut32.dll
ModVer: 3.50.5016.0 Offset: 000036c8hope that helps

MemberYeah I’m having trouble with it too. I don’t get crashes, but I do get an error saying it can’t open because it’s not configured right and to reinstall it, which I’ve done, to no avail. So their new version is buggy and needs to be fixed ASAP.

MemberIt does sound somewhat obvious, but just check that you have the correct version for your operating system. Aside from that, sorry, I don’t know.

Memberok after trying and trying I still dont know what the hell is wrong, but ive come to the conclusion that my email address is the problem, not my MSN. When logging on as my proper email address I get the errors, but when I use a crappy newer one it works fine. I really dont understand this, how come one email address is fine but the other doesnt work. Ive checked my hotmail and both email accounts are working fine, so I dont see any valid reason for my main email address screwing up MSN

MemberI am also having trouble, when I tried to open it, it said ” parameter incorect”. What does that mean anyway?

Memberis the email address you are trying that crashes MSN registered as an MSN passport? if not that could well be your problem because the hotmail one works and that is automatically an MSN passport.

MemberIf you keep getting and message saying is not configured right then you have to repair your msn, restart you computer and it will work good, thats how I got to fix mine, you probably erased something from the regestry
