MemberHi
I was wondering if someone out there knows how i can delete people from my block lisT.
I recieve about 15-20 add requests from people i dont know everyday, naturally i block them, but now my block list is full and doesnt block anymore, i tried to delete people from the blocked list but the ‘delete’ part is not high lighted.
Pleaseeee can anyone help me on this, its driving me up the bloody wall 🙂April 30, 2006 at 10:31 am #143431sarahtowny
MemberFirstly you need to unblock the contact so they appear on the main window page with your list of friends.
In the main window for Messenger, right-click a contact name, and then click Delete Contact.
A dialog box will appear.
If the dialog box has check boxes, follow these instructions:
1. If you also want to completely remove this contact from all Windows Live properties, such as MSN Hotmail, check Remove from Messenger and Hotmail.
2. If you want to block this contact from seeing your online status, or from sending you instant messages, check Also block this contact.
Click OK.
If you delete them they will no longer appear in your blocked list, and free your block list space. I think this will sort out your problem. Thanks for posting!

MemberFor reference:
Removing contacts from your block list will effectively unblock them, if they have not deleted you from their account they will still be able to see you online and talk to you. Deleting and blocking is the only surefire way to stop people from bothering you. The block list doesn’t affect anything…so why clear it?June 13, 2007 at 6:02 pm #143432wronged
MemberI was happy to see someone had asked the same question I had wondered about for a while now… but I tried the advice and it didnt work for me and I think i know why.. however now I need to know if there is a way to fix it. I had several people in my block list that I had ‘deleted’ but did not block at the time I deleted. Now I’ve added them to my block list once I realized they could still send me messages once deleted. However in following the advice I have tried to click to allow them in my contact list now, they don’t show up. I’m assuming this is because I deleted them. So now I cant put them in my allow list in order to delete and block them so that I may permanently delete them once in my block list. I hope I’ve made sense.
I have my own personal reasons from wanting them removed from my block list even though I am aware that it has no affect on anything whatsoever. I just want them gone. Can anyone help, please?
Thanks so much.

MemberIf you try unblock and then delete them the contact will still see if your online/offline if they have you on there list. its impossible to remove them…. unless you add them to your allow list and delete them from there.
Which we dont want because that was the whole point of blocking them in the first place, Microsoft should of thought about that feature on msn.

ParticipantI found this thread when I searched Google to find out why I couldn’t delete contacts from my block list on MSN. I tried a few of the methods put down here. And this is what I found.
When I went into “Contact list clean-up” (an MSN Plus! feature) I noticed that all of the contacts I have been trying to delete from my block list have still got me on their MSN list, except one. I deleted it and went to my MSN block list to see if I could delete it from there as well and I could.I hope this was helpful!
