Ok,
The club I belong to (a Land Rover club, nothing interesting:D) have a chat room on MSN, which is closed down everyday when we all log off.
I am in need of a bot to control the room, and be the holder of the golden hammer. But, how did I do it? The first person in at the moment gets the golden hammer, then if they set to “away” and go out, we have no control.
Help, please! 😀

loser_kid, did you think at all before you made the last two posts? Or are you just that rude by nature?
THINK before you frucking post! Gresh316 came in here, with the hope for someone to help them. With the hope, someone would be kind enough to point them to a website where they can find more information about MSN bots, or to even EXPLAIN the whole subject to them.
Do you actually KNOW why people are, what you would consider, dumb? Because they haven’t met someone yet who’s willing to EXPLAIN them how it works.
Gresh316… take a look at http://www.msnbots.net
loser_kid… you, sir, are truly f#%!ed up.May 21, 2003 at 11:42 pm #62987Jeff HesterKeymasterNot any of us have all the answers, and I’m immediately suspicious of anyone who claims otherwise. The purpose of these forums are for users to help each other. “Do a search on Google” is not a help. In fact, a large percentage of people come here precisely because they did a search on Google… and it brought them here!
Please remember to be helpful. If you did a search that found the answer, provide a link to the search string so that we can all learn together. If you know the question was previously answered. Provide a link directly to the answer. The point is, either be helpful, or be quiet.

May 27, 2003 at 11:00 pm #62996shifterMemberThere are many different ways of putting a bot in your chat room. There are scripts and programs out there that do a variety of things. I have used a few different script bots and they work great. BUT there is a bit of a learning curve. You will need to use MIRC (a chat program) and a script that will connect u to the MSN chat service (ie. Vincula). Many ppl create scripts and a few good ones out there are at http://www.err0r.net most come in an all inclusive package and are all free, just unzip and go. There are chat rooms dedicated to helpin ppl with scripts in the computing area of MSN. If you are fairly good with computers try one of these, as they come with many auto features such as auto booting ppl depending on profiles, banning spammers, and giving access through commands (ei. type !hostme) and adding other features such as trivia or casino type games.
Another option would be to try a bot program such as IRCDominator, which offer more basic options, but are generally more easy to learn.
In any case, these bots and scripts will need a place to reside – ie. a host computer thats always on – if you want to keep your room open 24/7.
Try doing a google search for “MIRC MSN Scripts or Bots” or a variation of that.
Hope that helps a bit:)May 28, 2003 at 1:07 am #62991Gresh316MemberAh, refreshingly, sensible answers, thanks guys, much appreciated.
Regards
