Hello,
I have a problem with my MSN File Sharing. I get an error:
http://www.karm.ee/error.gif
It says:
Unable to create the Shared or(and) Download directory.
I use Windows XP, I have my Default Windows XP Firewall turned on (plus some extra things added), *.msn.com is added to Trused Sites and it’s security level is turned to Low. So, the URL http://appdirectory.messenger.msn.com/AppDirectory/P4Apps/FileSharing/en/fileSharingCtrl.htm fits there great.
Msn.com is also on my Allow Cookies list.
I use proxy, but this error was there even without it. I have also all the Windows Updates installed.
What could I do? I really have no ideas anymore.. :(:(
Is this when someone tries to send you a file over MSN Messenger? If so, what path do you have set in the text field for “Put files received from others in this folder” (it’s can be found in Tools > Options > Messages tab)? Perhaps there’s some permissions problem and you should use an existing directory on your computer?
No, it is not the usual MSN File Transfer. This MSN File Sharing comes with MSN 6.0 only. You can launch it from Launch Site -> File Sharing. Then a new window opens (which is actually an IE window; see the URL above!) and this is where this error opens up.
Disable your firewall for starters.
I have tried also to disable the Windows XP firewall. Though I know, my friends use the File Sharing WITH the default XP firewall settings.
The error stays there.
