MSN Messenger 6.0 does not work on my school’s computer along with many other computers around the world, as we all know. Apparently there is a fix, but I dont have admin acess to change anything.
So basiclly everyone in the school goes to oldversion.com to download MSN 4.6(83) (being the latest version, that works well). Just recently today, MSN told us that we must upgrade, and gives us the choice to install or not. If we choose no, it just closes the sign in screen.
Was there any word of Microsoft refusing people to use 4.6?
Yes, didn’t you get the memo from Bill? They aren’t supporting anything under MSN Messenger 5.0, Windows Messenger 4.7.2000, or MSN Messenger for Mac 3.5.
I suggest you have a conversation with the school’s computer support and ask them to upgrade the software (or give you the rights to do so).
Actually I did. Thats too bad. v5 is just a cheap looking version compared to the new v6, and you cant right click the damed sign in pop ups.
No one likes v5 for that reason, so I guess we’ll stick to temporarly installing the BETA 6.1 until it comes out in full next month,
