I’ll explain the circumstances first; using MSN 6.1.0207 off XP.
Was on a webcam chat with a mate in Sydney last night when MSN hung on me. Had to reboot and was not able to reconnect.
Got the “username not valid or password incorrect” message.
Went to another PC on my network and logged in successfully, so the account’s fine.
Uninstalled and re-installed MSN with no success.
Tried other accounts through MSN without success.
Then discovered that I could not access certain websites, Hotmail, some .NET passport sites, my University VPN. “This page cannot be displayed”
Checked all my LAN settings, all appear to be fine.
Found this site, followed advice to delete registry key without success.
Then tried to download SP1 for XP, couldn’t do this.
It’s giving me massive buzzards, can anyone advise?
cheers
Milks
and then with persistance I’ve sorted it.
xp system restore back to last week, but i’ve still no idea what caused the probloem in the first place….
