msn messenger 6.0

i have downloaded the 6.0 preview. when i open my outlook express it starts up the old messenger. how do i get rid of the old one. i tried to remove it from the add/remove screen but it isn’t there. only the new one is. please help..

I don’t think you can because this is MSN messenger, not Windows messenger. Outlook uses Windows messenger.

why is it different if it carries over your contacts. do you know how to disable the one in outlook express…

You can remove Windows Messenger by going to Control Panel, Add/Remove Programs, Add/Remove Windows Components and unchecking the Windows Messenger box….
