Check it out. Microsoft has announced MSN Messenger 6.0 will be released this summer, possibly as soon as July 17th.

May 18, 2003 at 8:40 pm #96436MistahManParticipantAny word on if this new version will have offline messaging or file transfer resume features like Icq?
May 18, 2003 at 8:50 pm #96429detn8rParticipantI’ve been looking around for more news, and no word of this has been mentioned. Maybe its one of those ‘biggies’ that M$ wants to save for the release?
We’ll just have to sit back and wait, or until someone releases something.May 18, 2003 at 9:24 pm #96433FaizanMemberAnd what about the SMS feature like ICQ have? Anyone heard of that?

SMS isn’t really a function of the program, but requires agreements with wireless carriers. You might be interested to read about Microsoft’s agreement with Orange to provide MSN/SMS capabilities throughout much of Europe.
May 21, 2003 at 3:39 am #96432FaizanMemberPretty Good, but I use T-Mobile, Orange was kinda crap, so I chose the other one… But still, I tried to use that mobile text feature on My friend’s Vodafone, and it worked but whoever receives the text will pay for it, not the one who sends it. Thats why I turned that feature off from my Option (Tools>Options>Phone>Allow people on my contact list to send messages to my mobile device) And I believe its not fair, that the person who receives the text has to pay 🙁
