That’ll get ya no where. 😉 Also, this board has an edit post feature. Please use it. (click on the
button above your posts – it saves us from reading annoying 3 in a row posts)June 15, 2004 at 11:45 am #43815JTKiser1022
MemberFirst of all…I was only trying to help the person…
Second of all…I don’t see an edit option above my postings…
Third…I think it’s more ‘annoying’ the way you speak to people on this forum…lighten up a bit…
I don’t think it’s annoying when someone is just trying to assist…

ParticipantI never said your assistance was “annoying” – and I would have never. Sign into your account, and you will see the edit post feature. You are new, and I will give you that, but please take advice and use it, rather than whining about it.

MemberOk, I guess this is the thread where I can post my problem at. *unsure*
I’ve just had to go thru a major and complete system restore. I’m running Windows ME for the time being because I don’t have enough room on my pc to upgrade to XP right now. But anyways, in order for me to be able to use my cable modem, I had to use the Client for Microsoft Windows. I redownloaded MSN messenger 6.2 and installed it, only to have absolutely NO sounds. I have uninstalled and then re-downloaded it, and installed it again, only to still have no sounds with it. The MSN messenger worked with sounds before the system restore WITH me using Client for Microsoft Windows. (I checked and it did have the enable sounds option checked in my options menu of MSN messenger, but when I go into the sounds menu on my computer, it shows the Messenger program icon, but no sound files under it). It was working with sounds before the complete system restore, but it’s not working now. I tried to use the repair option only for it to tell me that it couldn’t find MsnMsgs.msi. I have searched my computer and it’s just not there. Is there any way I can download this file that is compatiable with my windows platform? Or did the file get ‘locked out’ when I had to enable Client for Microsoft Windows? Which if that is the case….how do I get the file back?
I have even gone so far as to search for the Windows Messenger, but the folder shows BLOGO.GI, MSMSGS.IN, NEWEMAIL.WA, ONLINE.WA, & TYPE.WA in it and that’s it. I can’t seem to be able to find a downloadable version of Windows Messenger that will run on Windows ME. I keep finding the XP version. *sigh*
*on a side note, I’ve had this computer for over three years and bought it used. The only software disk my friend had to give me was the System Restore disk. She had lost the Windows ME software disk.*
Anyways, any help will be GREATLY appreciated. Thanks!

KeymasterI download the newest one with Dap. I just clicked on the link that starts the download to open in a new window and then copied the address that appears and pasted it on DAP where you add a URL.

MemberOk, thanks, I un-installed it and then re-downloaded it yet again and this time, I saw MsnMsgs.msi being unpacked after it downloaded. Now I have sounds again. Thanks for the help 🙂
