MSN Messenger 7 beta keeps signing me out

If you are having this problem since yesterday it might be a server related problem that will be fixed in time. If it exists longer or you don’t want to wait try the steps below.

There can be several causes for your problem. First of all make sure your computer is clean from viruses and spyware/adware. You can get a free virus scanner here (AVG) or perform a online virus scan here (panda activescan) or here (housecall).
Also scan your computer with Spybot S&D and Lavasoft Ad-Aware to it clean from hidden spyware and adware on your computer.

It is also possible that the problem is caused by your firewall or connection. Try turning your firewall off temporarily and see if the problem persists. Don’t forget to turn it on again after testing 🙂
If you have a router, try connecting your pc directly to the internet to find out if your router is the cause. When it works fine after that update your router with the latest firmware and/or do a hardware reset to see if that fixes the problem.

Since MSN Messenger 7.0 is still a beta it is possible that MSN Messenger 6.2 (the latest stable release) works without problems. Try to remove MSN Messenger 7.0 (Start->Control Panel->Add or Remove Programs) and install MSN Messenger 6.2 instead.
