MSN Messenger 7 loading slow?

Is it me or this new version load slower, like almost a full 5 seconds for the window to appear when I click on the tray icon…

nope it’s not you, I’ve noticed it is alot slower and I think it’s alot longer than 5 seconds………

It loads the same for me, I timed it (how sad i am) and it was 1.5 seconds.

MSN Messenger is actually only using 15K in process, which is a lot less considering during the beta tests I ran, it was getting close to 30K. I have no complaints here 🙂

EDIT: If you lot are talking about the lag in conversations opening, I believe they are caused by dynamic display pictures. : PITA!

I was refering to clicking on the tray Icon and waiting to have the window appear displaying my buddy list. I went back to 6.2. I’m running Windows 98 se with 128 ram 700mhz which I think is enough to run a chat application without lag, no? Even ICQ is quicker on my pc than this new version.

The only problem I’m having is when signing in. It takes ages and several tries. Perhaps it is because many people are using it more now or something. Anyway once it’s logged in the actual contact list does load fast when clicking the tray icon.
