First of all I apologize if this has been posted before but I did a search and did not come up with anything that appeared to be realated to my problem.
In my contact list, a few of my contacts are now appearing offline as email addresses as opposed to their Disply names. When they log back on they then appear as their appropriate name. They can then log off again and while offline their display name will appear for a week or two and then all of a sudden change back to their email address only.
I run MSN7.5 on one computer and Windows Live Messenger on anotehr and seem to experience the same issue. Although the display name did seem to ‘stick’ around long on Live Messenger.
it also seems to be more frequent with newer contacts…ie some real old contacts who have not been online in quite some time (6 months) still show as their last display name where as the newer contacts in the last month seem to have the issue.
Any thoughts? I do not run MSN PLUS or any add-on software for MSN.
I guess this is not a big deal, but I am curious to know why it does this.
