MemberI don’t know if anyone here is aware once you have not checked your Hotmail/MSN E-mail account(s) after ninety days or so, and you are able to sign on to MSN Messenger. You won’t be receiving any messages in your Hotmail/MSN E-mail if you did not reactivate your E-mail account first.
I think this is great way to put your MSN Messenger alias(es) in your profile in public sites like BigBlueBall without worrying about getting unwanted (Spam) E-mail messages. You could use your non-Hotmail/MSN E-mail address(es) such as Yahoo for MSN Messenger and delete/deactivate your Yahoo E-mail account and still be on MSN Messenger.
I found this after sending message to my old MSN account from my primary E-mail account. If you do not wish to have your Hotmail/MSN E-mail address(es) reactivated, don’t click on the ‘Go to my e-mail inbox’ link found on top of your Messenger or log in at the Hotmail/MSN website.
What I am trying to figure how to have the click able link greyed out or something to avoid from accidentally reactivating my MSN E-mail address.

ParticipantI don’t think it will re-activate just by going to hotmail. In my experience, if you let your account deactivate and you try to access hotmail, it will bring you to a page asking if you would like to reactivate (and try to sell you on the $$$ version). So I wouldn’t sweat it too much about accidently clicking the check email button.

MemberIf you look at the bottom of that page. You’ll find a link to continue with free service.

MemberOpTiMiSt, thank you for your input, but this is not what was being asked. Brian does not want to reactivate his account! Unless you know how to do what Brian asked, the question has been answered by Shifter.

MemberLurking_Biohazard, Hasan was replying to Shifter’s post. He said that you can reactivate your account without paying. While this might not be very relevant, it is still useful to know.

As for OpTiMiSt, you do need to read the original post again. 🙂 Like Lurking_Biohazard said, Brian does not want to reactivate the account at all. This way he can use his MSN account solely for MSN and not reveil his e-mail address on the way.
