MSN Messenger was plagued by sporadic outages Tuesday and Wednesday. Many people had their buddy lists wiped out, and many more were unable to login to the service. I tried several times throughout the day Wednesday with no success.
Microsoft is aware of the problem but as of Thursday morning had not identified the cause. I was able to login and use the system this morning, and thankfully, did not lose my buddy list (though a friend did).
