Nichole
MemberHello. I am a newbie here. 😮 I was wondering if I could possibly get a MSN polygamy that isn’t a patch? If i download a polygamy patch, Only a winzip thing comes up.. and no polygamy. Is it possible to get a polygamy without the winzip? I have looked at mess.be and it has the winzip thing and if i go to download.com it also has the winzip thing too. I have MSN 5.0 and I run WindowsME (just in case you need that information ;)) Thanks for your help!

ParticipantEw, two evil things. WinME, and MSN 5.
Polygamy only comes as a patch, and I dont think anyone made it as a self installer, meaning no .exe, also meaning theres only .zip. If you are having problems installing it with the .zip maybe you need WinZip? If so, grab it at http://www.winzip.com or as you said http://www.download.com.
Tho, I have never found a polygamy patch to work for version 5 of messenger. Not by asdfuae, nor Heavy_k. Anyone have one that should work?July 19, 2003 at 6:23 pm #93136imported_EvilSeph
MemberI’m not sure if i need this information but, can you perhaps tell me the full version number of MSN Messenger 5, I know where to find a .exe patch, I didn’t choose to distribute because people wouldn’t bother as it may be considered malicious, once again, it is from Asdfuae.

ParticipantIn MSN Messenger, click on Help>about and provide your version number for MSN. It may help us find you the correct version of the patch.

ParticipantNichole – Polygamy is a patch. It makes changes to the original code of MSN Messenger to allow you to chat with two (or more) MSN Messengers accounts at once. Generally a patch comes in a compressed form – ie Zipped. This makes the download smaller and faster to obtain. The Zip file you download contains the software necessary to install the patch. So you need to extract the contents from the .zip file using a program such as WinZip or WinRar. Once you extract these files you exit completely out of MSN Messenger (this includes closing the system tray icon as well), then run the included .exe setup file which will then automatically patch MSN Mesenger to allow multiple instances.

No, however, you can (If you run on Windows XP) use MSN Messenger and Windows messenger at the same time.

ParticipantChelc – David is right, its not possible. MSN 6.0 is an upgrade to MSN 5.0, and is installed overtop of 5.0. What this means is that you cannot have both versions installed at the same time.

MemberJnzrloader is a session patch, meaning it patches in memory only, which makes it less of a legal issue if confronted. It patches the .exe in memory and does not affect the .exe in any way what so ever, its not a patch, its a loader 🙂
Afaik, you can run MSN Messenger 6 and 5…but who would? MSN Messenger 5 is bloated with no useful features what so ever, not to mention a large resource hog. MSN Messenger 6 is less of a resource hog, more eyecandy, much more useful and has much more features…but..thats my opinion 🙂

I agree with this… As JNRZ does nothing with .exe file it is the coolest patch around…
