Hello All,
Hope you can help me with a small, but nonetheless, irritating problem.
When I sign in to Hotmail to check my emails, after a few seconds a small box appears in the centre of the screen saying :
Are you sure you want to navigate away from this page?
You are signing out. Any converstations will be closed. Do you want to sign out?
Press ok to continue or cancel to stay on the current page.>
This box appears whether I am signed into MSN messenger or not.
It also appears when I havent even touched any keys, most frustrating!
I also have another MSN name & it doesnt hasppen with this one.
Please can someone tell me what box needs ticking or unticking to sort this.
Thank you very much, Simon.
I have found it!!!!!!!!
Found out how to stop that poxy box from appearing!!!!!!!!!!!
Marvellous, streefree emailing, peace at last!!!!!!
Simon.
It would be nice to describe exatly how did you solve that problem, so people with same trouble would get help from this topic.
Yes Miss, sorry Miss,
Ok, the problem stemmed from the ‘Hotmail today’ page.
At the top left of the page it says :
“new message, new appointment, new contact”
Above that is your own email address & next to that is your Messenger status.
The problem for me was that this said “failed” every time I signed in to Hotmail, but by clicking on the little arrow next to it you can sign out of MSN Messenger on the Hotmail Today page but still be signed in to MSN Messnger itself. (if that makes any sense, if it doesnt, try it & you will see what I mean)
It needs to say “offline” if you don’t want the irritating little box to keep appearing.
P.S. This is using the old style MSN, I can’t speak for MSN Live or whatever its called.
Simon.
