High about a 3 days ago i got a link from someone on msn. I stupidly clicked it and it downloaded a program called STOP its supposed to tell you whos blocking you on msn and yahoo. Next day i couldnt view any yahoo or msn sites. I could log on the the messengers but no sites. When i found out that program was the cause of it I uninstalled it and did a Norton scan, and even restored my pc to before the time I installed the program. Now i can view sites from msn and yahoo but I cant log into msn messenger. It keeps telling me to try later, I’ve been trying for 2 days. I tried uninstalling it and reinstalling it but it wont work. Help!!!
Wow thats sucks, sorry i cant help … i think i would have doe about the same things you did (or at least ask someone to do that hehe) Hope you get it fixed.
Im thinking of formatting my pc but i dont want to do it if its not gonna help….any ideas 🙁
Have a look at our Msn Messenger Faq.
Hi there,
Please go here: http://www.verisign.com/advisor/check.html and run the test to see if your browser supports Secure Sites.
If it doesn’t, then you either have a very old browser or something is messed up. This should fix it though:
Click on Start -> Run, type in “regsvr32 softpub.dll” and click OK.
Try signing in now.
I’m guessing the blasted Uninstalelr for that stupid “STOP” application corrupted your SSL – crippled your Secure connections interface.
