I don’t know how, but MSN will automatically set itself to “online” if I have set it to “away”. Usually this happens if I am away for a long period of time, like overnight. Does anyone know why this happens and how I can stop it?
Thanks!!
MSN has the option to automatically set you away after a certain time period of inactivity. Enabling this function will also automatically set you back again whenever you touch the computer.
Bottom line, if you want the ‘away’ status to stick when you are back, set it manually.
I think what he’s trying to say is that he manually selects away so that he can leave messenger connected over night and then during the night, it will automatically set itself back to online!(rather than going from online to away as you said)
I have no idea why this is happening! Sometimes messenger can disconnect due to internet reasons and then reconnect by itself, thus setting you back to online?!?
hey, I have the same problem with my MSN. It really drives me crazy. Do you have a firewall installed? I think that might be why mine does that. I uninstalled the firewall, but it still does it sometimes. Hopefully someone knows how to fix it.
maybe you loose connection in the middle of the night, and then MSN Tries to reconnect, But when it reconnects your no longer away? — This has happend to me a few times.
That’s nothing! I’ve had MSNM switch me to Online mode from AppearOffline mode. Though this hasn’t happened since I installed JNRZ Loader.
