I stupidly updated to the windows live messenger 2011..
The few questionsI have is how do I get it to remember my username but not password.?
and
How can i disable multipal account log in so when i log into one i log out of the other.October 11, 2010 at 10:47 am #176462Doris KenneyParticipantOn my system, I unchecked the box that says to “remember my login and password” and my password was instantly removed from the sign in screen. The drop down box still retained all the logins I’ve used but the password was not automatically entered. You can give that a shot. If you want your login removed you’ll need to click “forget me”
As for polygamy – I’m not seeing any options for that. When I try to login to a 2nd instance of WLM in Windows 7 it’s not actually loading so I’d be forced to sign out of one and into the other account. Your’s is letting you access more than one account?

Themes are machine dependent so you will need to set them on each machine you sign on from. When you are actually chatting with someone, what you see in the chat window is the theme your contact has set – not the one you have set. Your contact will see the one you have chosen.
As for the login problem – I’m afraid I don’t have the answer for you. As I said, my logins are retained even if my passwords are not. There are probably still a few quirks since this is a new release. Are you using the beta version or the stable version right now?
October 12, 2010 at 3:13 am #176464DrelixMemberBut as i am using e buddy for my mobile i log into it and on the computer it says logged into 2 accounts.
now if i go out and start talking to people and my brother or something comes on he will be able to see all my conversations i am having witch could be private.when i talk about the themes it does not go across to the chat window thats on that current computer it just stays blue like this attachment
even though the view my contacts theme is turned off why doesn’t the theme go from the main msn window to the chat box.?and with login if you compltelty close msn and re open it the email address is gone and you have to log it back in.
if you want to add me to msn please see your private messages. i sent them email address there it might be easier to sort out.October 12, 2010 at 10:54 am #176463Doris KenneyParticipantIf you are using another program other than WLM to access when you are not at your computer then you should log out of WLM on your computer before you leave it. The Windows Live Messenger app on iPhone gives the choice to log out from other locations but I would doubt that any other phone application would give you the choice to do so. It’s not the fault of WLM that other third party applications don’t offer all the choices you want them to have.
Again –
Quote:what you see in the chat window is the theme your contact has set – not the one you have set. Your contact will see the one you have chosen. The behavior shown in the image you have attached is as it is designed to work. The theme you see in the chat window is not your theme – it is the one your contact is using. This is the same behavior that has been in Windows Live Messenger for quite some time (in fact for as long as I remember using WLM it’s been this way). This is not new.
As for the login behavior – I don’t have an answer so I’m afraid we’ll have to wait and see if anyone else using the latest version is having the same issue you are. I’m not going to be able to help you on that one.
I fully understand the issues you are having and for the ones I can answer I have explained them to the best of my ability for you.
