Hi!
Probably it have to do with another business, but…
I wonder if there is some kind of tool that can look at the log directory, and do stuff like: searching by fields such as date/time, nicks and the very text.
And, if it wasn’t too much to ask, that could combine 2 or more logs… to do something like “reconstructing” parallel conversations…
Finally at the top of that 😉 , if it could export that “analysed data” in to for exemple html tables that could be easly posted in a blog, for exemple.
I undrestand that this have much to do with XML and DataBases manipulation, but because MSN uses xml to log I tried to ask here 😉
thanks…
Good question.. it’s sad that you have not got a reply.

Too bad that Rhiannon couldn’t bother to offer any constructive input. 😉
Some of the stuff you wanna do can be done with some programming, but I don’t know of a program that currently combines logs. Not really sure why you’d want that anyway.
It sounds like you’re looking at the raw XML files that Messenger creates. What you should be doing is using the Messenger program, going to File > Open Message History. From there you can pick a contact and get a chronological view of every conversation, and it’s searchable!
No I do not have that “simple” doubt. It not a questions of simply VIEW a log, but hanks for the reply…
What I want is to “capture” the data like a database and then export it to plain html…
To do things like posting an analyses on a webpage or blog and:
-annotate special parts of the text
-mix 2 or more separate dialogues in a continous stream of text (something like IRC channels)
-viewing or not some of the fields, like date/time/colours/smilies
thanks
