kamran
MemberHello everyone. I downloaded the msn messenger 5.0 version and when I was trying to install it, a kind of an error occured that they couldn’t find the msnmsgs.msi file. I than downloaded the 4.6 version and installed it and now my msn messenger gets stuck don’t know why. I went to the windows control panel and tried to remove the msn messenger 5.0 version from the “add-remove programs” option and when it’s removing, the same error occurs that the msnmsgs.msi file is not available. I am so frustrated at the moment. No msn messenger for 4 hours now
Please tell me what I shall do to get msn messenger back?

MemberInstall the latest version of Windows Installer, which comes with Internet Explorer 6.0 (http://www.microsoft.com/ie/). You can then download and install MSN Messenger 6.0 (http://messenger.msn.com/download/v6preview.asp?client=1) without any problems.

MemberI guess something is wrong with my windows then. I can’t see anything in the message field of yahoo! messenger either. It’s all cause of msn 6.0 I guess.

Memberu still having the same problem kamron?
the .msi file is the install part of the program! If your PC cant find that, you cant remove it!
try emptying ur registry of messenger and then re installing! FOllow theses instructions:
1. Exit msn messenger completely —DO NOT UNINSTALL FROM ADD/REMOVE PROGRAMS…u cant ne way KAM l[]l!
2. click Start, then Run, then type “regedit” and click OK
3.Then go to (they look like small folders) :
MyComputerHKEY_CURRENT_USERSoftwareMicrosoftMSNMessenger.
Click the ‘MSNMessenger’ key (Do not double click! just highlight it so it should turn blue)
then go to the Edit menu, and then click Delete.
Click “Yes” to confirm the operation.
4. Install your msn 5 file and sign in!
Your MSN6 should work now too if you try it! LEt me kno how it goes!
