MemberCan someone please help me. I installed yahoo messenger 7 beta and coulldn’t have multiple IE windows open anymore. Whenever i open a new IE window it will replace the one previously opened. I need multiple windows open in my work and can’t do without it.
I have tried to uninstall 7 beta and reinstall the previous version of yahoo messenger but the problem is still there.
I’m using Win XP home edition.

MemberHi there CC. 🙂 And welcome to BBB.
Firstly, THANK YOU for reporting back, so as to prevent millions of us all spending countless hours researching your problem – needlessly 😉
But also, are you aware of the setting for IE6 under Internet Options, Advanced, “Reuse windows for launching shortcuts” ? I’m not sure, but this might help you sometime.
(Personally I prefer SlimBrowser – all the good points of I.E. plus many others, including “Tabbed” browsing, and ability to handle “new/same window” distinction as YOU want it!)

Member(Equally sorry for being off-topic!)
Maybe twice a year at most, Marl! (And I’m a heavy, daily, user 😉 )
I’ve used it basically troublefree for 3 or 4 years, first on W98 and now on XP.
But that’s just MY experience, FWIW.June 11, 2005 at 8:10 pm #124061amy_d_g
ParticipantHi cc00l1 and Welcome to BBB!
Try Firefox. I LOVE it, and would never go back to IE. It has tabbed windows and is highly customizable, you can find an extension to make it do almost anything you want it to. The pop-up blocking is beyond belief, I rarely (if ever!) get an unwanted pop-up. Rarely crashes on me, and is much more secure, less chance getting infected by spyware/adware. Check out this thread to learn a bit more. Also a google search of Firefox reviews will give you a ton of results.
Now that I’ve strayed off-topic with the rest of you… well guys, lets try and stay on Yahoo in here… cc if you have anymore questions that aren’t anwered (about browsers), try a post in our Computer Support section.
Good luck!
