hello everyone, i was wondering if it is possible to run multiple versions of msn messenger on one windows xp system. i dont mean polygamy but i want to install the :new: windows live messenger and msn 7.5 on the same machine. is it possible?
I guess anything is possible, although I personally couldnt tell you how but may I ask why would you want to do that?
Yes you may have both Windows Live Messenger and MSN 7.5 installed on your computer. What you must do is (if you already have MSN 7.5 installed) change the folder name MSN Messenger in C:/Program Files/MSN Messenger to anything of your choice say for example: MSN Messenger 7.5. It will probably give you a warning how the program may stop working if you change the name but just hit ok anyway as it will work just fine (I’ve done it).
Then you can download and install Windows Live Messenger which automatically installs in a folder called MSN Messenger, which is why you must have changed the name of the previous one so that it doesn’t install over it. And that’s pretty much it! If you are confused about anything feel free to post again. 🙂
