Every now and then you come across a band that has so much talent you just want to share it with everyone you know. But what about those poor people who don’t know you. How will they ever find out about this amazing new unknown band? Well they can start by looking here. If you know of a relatively unknown or unrecognized band and would recommend them to your friends, post it here. Perhaps include some info on why you like them, a quick bio, links to there official site, or some links to audio samples. Every genre is welcome.
Shifters recomendations…
Wide Mouth Mason
Their sound is original, they have extraordinary talent. A blues-influenced Canadian trio from Saskatoon, Saskatchewan, the band creates music that transcends the easy labels of music media and instead lays ground for a sound that is wholly the band and best heard live. This band is rising fast, having opened for groups like AC/DC, The Rolling Stones, and The Guess Who, I can hardly call them unknown anymore. But if you haven’t heard of these guys yet, I strongly suggest you check them out.
Audio Samples – This is from there first album released in ’97, they have grown an extraordinary amount since then, but I could find no other samples to link you too.Big Sugar
Another strongly blues oriented Canadian band, Big Sugar remains unconstrained by the shifting sands of “what is trendy” while still producing unforgettable songs that can be heard on virtually any radio format. Front man Gordie Johnson and his Roots Rock Reggae band, pack a wicked punch.
Audio SamplesThe Sounds
A great band with a fresh sound. I didn’t take to this band at first, but after every listen it grew on me more and more. The Sounds are one of Sweden’s hottest exports these days, having reached Platinum status in Sweden, they are now branching out to try and make it in America. There sound reinvigorates the 80’s with there use synthesizers and up-tempo pop songs, but in a good way. Definitely worth a few listens if your looking for something a little different.

(sorry about the caps, but they’re just that good). basically it’s like Stomp, but they use only things like 55-gallon drums and teapots. I went to their concert when they came to my school, and it blew me away. one of the guys is billed as the world’s fastest extreme drummer, at over a 1000 beats per minute. unbelievable.
