ok well I cant figure out how to get the picture on here. I have a old imac G3. let me tell u, it is very good. it barely ever has any thing rong with it and when it does all it needs is a simple run with disk utility and whoo buddy its fixed. I truely think macs are better if your one of those ppl who jus like to have a good computer that works whne you need to. if your sum geek that knows how to fix everything than you will b fine wit a windows machine.. cuz they almost always need sum kind of help. when you put a cd in a mac, you dont have to worry bout the D: drive or C: drive or w.e all that is. you dont have to worry about the confusing tthings cuz mac is so simple. everything is wehre it is and its practially common sense. I dont wanna diss windows, but mac is alot better. it just works. windows thingys work 2, but mac jus blows them away. PLUS everything is shinier then boring windows and its just alot of eye candy on top but underneath it all is a rock-hard core OS that is the best thing out there. PLUS mac came out first. once windows copied them enough they created their own thing and jus changed it and voila! a crappy but cheap system that is compatible wit everything. so theres my post 🙂
sorry man but i’m really getting sick of the “PCs are so much better than macs” and “No way man Macs are way better!” topics. both OSes have their own virtues, and as long as you take decent care of either one, you dont have to be “sum geek that knows how to fix everything”. oh and I especially like your little disclaimer of “I dont wanna diss windows” while your entire post is Windows-bashing

Really, but at least its not as bad as the “AMD VS INTEL” threads at some other forums…. those guys are crazy.

It is a matter of opinion. Having used Mac and Windows, they both do exactly the same thing– just differently. Okay, I am breaking this down one by one…here goes:
You say disk utility fixes any problem with the Mac, well I remember Macs having extension-hell. Now anybody who has only used Windows, this is 10 times worse than DLL-hell. These things would just break– no reason at all…POS OS…At least I don’t have that problem on Windows 2000 or XP…
You say it is good to have a computer that works when you need to…well, my Windows machine does that fine. My Linux box does it fine. Oh wait, I can’t boot up my old Mac Performa because…[gasp]…extension conflicts. 🙂
You say that it takes a geek that knows how to fix everything to use a Windows machine…well, once you learn that you need to hold down the shift key at bootup to turn all extensions off, and then go through each one manually, then yeah, I guess you are an expert on the Mac… On Windows, it just works. Have you even used a Windows machine as your primary machine?
You say you don’t need to worry bout drives with CDs on a Mac…well dude, they are the letters of the alphabet…how hard can it get? Have you used Windows XP? Seems pretty common sense to me…
Mac is not better, you are “dissing” Windows. They are different. Clearly you haven’t used a Windows machine for any longer than an hour at a time…
Mac does not blow Windows away…they do the same thing, just differently. One is not better than the other…
Shinier? Dude, you are running a G3, that isn’t shiny. The OS can’t even go to its potential on your Mac, how would you know what OS X can do with visuals? XP has a lot of eye candy on top and underneath it is a rock-hard core OS called Windows NT… Under the Mac? UNIX…solid, yes…but the only use for UNIX is for a server or a high-end workstation with massive hardware…a G3 doesn’t quite fit the profile…Besides, any Mac OS below 10 is not built on UNIX…
Windows copied them? Plllllleeease…I’ve heard this wayyy to many times… It isn’t about who does it first, it is about who does it best.
A crappy but cheap system? Why would it be compatible with everything if it was cheaply made and crappy? That makes no sense.
Ferali, seriously, you clearly must not have used a Windows system since 1998…get with the times…any NT-based OS is stable, not exactly secure, but rock solid, just as rock solid as any UNIX system I’ve used. Just as stable as Solaris, BSD, and Linux…Stop being ignorant, you obviously haven’t used Windows XP…
Computers don’t hafta be easy for n00bs…that is just an added bonus…and trust me, Macs are not easier, they are cluttered, system preferences are organized stupidly, and any Mac OS below 10 has extension hell…they aren’t worth their high price…
