This thread is dedicated to my best friend Nessy who loves me, more than anything. She picks me up when I am low, makes me smile when I don’t want to smile. And when happy she makes me more happy. When I am pain, she tells me to get up and stop being stupid. If you have a best friend, then you have a friend forever. I am in soppy mode. But here is to all the friends we have and to mine who loves me lots. Sarah :0)
p.s Ness loves you, snuggles cuddles always xx
June 14, 2005 at 9:42 pm #124306Jeff HesterKeymasterHere I was thinking I was your best mate! This is a sad sad day. Now I think I’ll make a topic about how I have been dumped as a best mate. 🙁 *sob*
Haha jk. That’s sweet of you to talk about your best friend like that. I need to get me one of those as soon as I have the time to.

June 14, 2005 at 11:05 pm #124311OreoMemberWell, my hubby is my best friend, he tries to make me laugh when I’m down and kicks me in the behind when I’m being stupid…but I do have a great friend named Sarah on the Internet…And one who is Rabid (I would have to wear gloves to wipe her snots though…I’d hate to catch the Rabies!)
June 14, 2005 at 11:45 pm #124319gossipingraeMemberOreo, I’m sure Sami wouldn’t appreciate you saying that about her! LoL.
My best friend’s name is Tiffany. Our best friends story is quite unique. I’ll share it if you like 🙂
My mom and Tif’s mom have been best friends since they were 16. Our moms got married at the same time and got pregnant with us around the same time. Tif and I were supposed to be born a week apart in May, with her being older than me. It turns out that our moms went into labor on the same day, except I was born on June 2, 1984 and Tif was born on June 5, 1984. We have been inseparable ever since. We are both blond hair and blue eyes, and of course, both Gemini girls. Which means we are both rockin’ girls and everyone loves us 😉
So there’s my sappy best friend story. Now wipe away your tears, c’mon now.

June 15, 2005 at 7:05 am #124313EEDOKMemberFunny story, I once went out with a girl named Vanessa who went by the name Nessy.. That’s about all the details I’m willing to release(other than it lasted from march-august 2002).
June 15, 2005 at 4:02 pm #124308FanaticMemberBest friend? I gotta get me one of those. Where do you pick one up?
June 16, 2005 at 8:39 pm #124314RabidKittenParticipantI hear they have them on sale at WalMart.
*not quite sane grin* Heh, Oh Elisa, you know that I try and keep my foaming at the mouth down, just for you *wink wink*
Right now, I’d have to say that my best friends are really my only friends around here in Rochester. And I live with them *shrug* What can I say, I like to keep the people I love close *wink* My roomates Steven and Dan have been there for me in the most horrid times, especially as of late, and in turn I’m there for them. Steven is particularly great just because I went to high school with him, hadn’t heard from him in almost a year, then when my fiance’ left me and I was in tatters, he found out and decided to kidnap me and hang around more, even though I hadn’t seen or talked to him in an extended amount of time, and we weren’t that close in high school either.
And since then we’ve been inseperable. I gave him a place to stay when his boyfriend and him needed to get out of their former living arrangements, he helped me with my love life issues. I help him keep the communication going with his fiance’, he gives me guidance and advice. We go to drag shows together, I’m his hag heheh. We go to rituals and celebrate holidays together with friends and generally are just there for one another. It’s great to have that kind of person around, especially one that you know isn’t going to fall for you *rolls eyes emphatically* Yeah…I’ve had problems with that.
But, yeah I’ve never been much for friends in general, just because I’m closed off quite a bit…but I do have some great folks I can count on to joke with/complain with/vent with, and a couple specifically are from here. Us girls gotta stick together, ne, Elisa? And I don’t know if ‘Tonio would consider me a friend or more of a Number One Fan… (*CoughStalkerCough*) heheheheh. I’m harmless…mostly. The folks on IRC are great to mess with, too, and I can always count on sarah to leave great little notes in my flickr album *wink*
What can I say, I have a vast number of random aquaintences, great friends and a wonderful support network. Very very fortunate.
June 17, 2005 at 5:36 pm #124315HasanMemberI am my best friend.
I make myself happy when I’m down.
I kick myself when I’m being stupid.
I spend time with my self.
And I love myself more than anyone else would 🙂June 29, 2005 at 2:22 am #124320AqeelParticipantMy best friend named Maqsood, I call him by his nick Soode. Now a days he is playing cricket in Pakistan Army team. What a good sportsman he is, even his life is full of sports spirit and the same thing he wants to see in me but you know I’m quite lazy kind of person 🙂
August 4, 2005 at 4:45 am #124316colinMemberI have a few best friends. Yes I know it’s possible, I’ve seen it on TV! Two of them are from school. One of them is a girl, Kelly, and one is a guy, Brent.
I have been friends with Kelly for about 3 years, and have been best friends for 2. She is always there, and always helping me, especially when a ton of stuff is going on in my life. We tried the dating thing once, and it didn’t work out(dating with best friends NEVER works, a good tip of advice). However, after we broke up, we just immediately went back to being best friends, and everything was perfect.
Brent has been a friend since 6th grade, but I never really realized how great of a friend he is until last year. We are almost the exact same in EVERYTHING, it is really weird. We have the same sense of humor, so he always knows how to make me laugh, especially when I really need it. He is also a great listener, one of the best! No matter what is going on, I always go to him and tell him exactly what happened or how I feel etc, without him thinking anything bad about me.
My other best friend goes to my church, and his name is Davey. I have known him since 7th grade I think, but I always thought he was kind of a loser (I know that is horrible, especially at church, but I am getting a log better about not judjing people). Anyways, in the Fall of ’04, there was a retreat in which I went. There was almost nobody there that was in my grade, so I didn’t really have anyone to hang out with. However, when I got on the bus, I saw Davey. I decided to just sit with him and hope for the best, and we had a complete blast at the retreat hanging out together. He is one of the funniest people I know, and we do basically everything together while we are at church. The only thing is that we live so far away, so we can’t really see each other outside of church.
August 23, 2005 at 10:10 am #124309sciencefeelingMemberI have several good friends, but I have this special friend I can always count on. He is always there when you need him, and he has faith in me….as I have faith in him.
On the other hand, I think friendship should be separated from romantic love, I am not trying to start an argument on this, but I don´t want my boyfriend or husband to be my friend, I want my bf to be my lover and my friend, to be my friend…That doesn´t mean you don´t talk to him, or trust him, just that sometimes you need someone objective out of the couple, hehehe.Does that sound weird?

August 23, 2005 at 1:01 pm #124307Jeff HesterKeymasterThe glory of friendship is not the outstretched hand, Nor the kindly smile nor the joy of companionship; it is the spiritual inspiration that comes to one when they discover that someone else believes in them and is willing to trust them.
Ralph Waldo Emerson
When that trust is betrayed it will never come again, hence the death of the friendship. How many of you have felt this pain when a trust has been betrayed.
Just a thought
