Hey everyone, just wanted to you let you know that I’m working on a new aim service at http://aim.samholton.com Basically a random thoughts service which allows each user to have their own set of random thoughts. Check it out and tell me what you think.

Yes, the most probable cause of the “Error Loading Content” error is that the screename trying to view the link has spaces in it. In otherwords, they have formated their screename to include spaces. This problem arises from the fact that the AIM window doesn’t properly encode the URL which in turn causes my webserver not to be able to process the request. The only way to fix this is to disable the log feature which currently isn’t an option. If enough people show interest in this project I will continue to work on this and provide some documentation. However, there is a quick simple fix, but it won’t keep track of who views your sayings. You can change the link that is provided at the bototm of the page which need to be posted in your profile. From the page it should look like

Thanks. Actually this whole idea start out as a joke. A friend wanted a way to display random text in his profile. At first there was no user interface, I just had him FTP his text file to my server. But then other not so ‘techy’ people also wanted to use it and it has evolved to what it is now. If you have any ideas of where I should take it from here, let me know or any new features that you would like to see. I’m thinking about having an option to not have the sayings random. I ran the original version off of my PC so its all flat-file. I should probably migrate it to SQL, be much more efficient.
