I know this is prob. old news, but I just wanted to post and voice my opinoin about AIM Triton. IT SUX!!!!!!!!!!!! 😉 That’s just my opinion tho. 🙂
I was wondering what anyone else thought of it?
I think the ONLY thing I liked about it was the tabbed windows for chat.
The things I didn’t like were….
*It takes up WAY MORE memory than any other AIM.
*It d/l Aim Explorer, I didn’t see a choice to NOT d/l w/ installation of AIM
*I couldn’t put hyperlinks in my away messages
And the worst is…..AIM triton merges its profiles w/ the AOL Member Directory. At first I thought it was cool, becuase 1…now if one of my buddies has AOL, I could see their profile w/o me having AOL todo so. Well, boy was I wrong…….after I did my profile on AOL…..For a month I would get 40-50 IM’s a day from names like “rweDCV35DFsdfrts” telling me about some dating network cr@p. I’d wake up in the morning and have my screen covered w/ IM’s.
But what really drove me to get rid of it was not being able to put links in my away messages. I have videos of my son online and like to share them, and I couldn’t do that.
So, I’m back to AIM 5.9 and couldn’t be happier!!!!!!!!!!!
I’ve since stopped getting all those IM….I wonder if it was cuz i started threatening to kill them all, LOL.
heh, the general consensus of a lot of people is that AIM Triton isn’t as good as it could be. But, it’s still relatively new, and it’s from AIM. AIM doesn’t exactly have a great track record of producing something great the first time around. I’m sure most of the things you mentioned will eventually be remedied in later versions… just be patient.
