MemberThe reason I’m posting this here and not in Web Dev is because I want an end user opinion, not a web developer’s perspective.
Please take a look at my new site, The Source SDK Lounge. I’d like some general feedback on it, overall (Feedback, to an administrator of a community, is invaluable, good or bad). And in case you’re wondering, the Source SDK is the set of tools used to edit or modify certain parts of Steam-based games (like Half-Life² or CounterStrike).
I welcome any feedback you may have. 🙂

ParticipantOkay, totally out of my element there, Spike, but for your audience, I’d say it rocks. The colors are typical of the gaming-type forums I’ve seen; and slightly reminiscent of Ctrl+Alt+Del. And the interface reminds me of BBB, so I found navigating very familiar, even easy.
Looks like a good start there fella.

Well, I like the layout of it. I understood it very quickly. The green text and black back-ground give it a “gamish” atmosphere and feel. It just says “This is THE spot for Gamers!” to me.
My comments may be obselete, as I’m not a gamer or web-design expert! =P

Memberhey Spike it looks fantastic (someone has been working hard!)
Very easy to find things, and I liked the fact you could even change the theme if you wanted to.
Looks to me like you have put alot of effort into this and as far as I can see it’s paid off. Well done you.
I have saved it as my son is a massive game fan so I am sure you will see him in there;)

MemberI hope you meant you “really” want honesty.
First, definitely cool looking. However, you may want to add some kind of heads up info as to what the site is all about. You explained it better here at BBB than you did at Source SDK.
I would suggest you add a description of what the site is about at the top of the page. I wasn’t sure of what to search for, or what exactly the site was offering.
S..u…r…e is pretty though!:woot:
