MemberHi…let me explain my situation first. My son, who is now in collge, is living on his own out of state. I don’t feel like explaining my personal life to everyone, but to make a long story short…he has a disorder and we need to check up on him without him knowing. Now before you all accuse me of spying on my son, just try to stick with the issue here. Like I said, I really don’t feel like making my family’s life the public’s business.
Anyway, we used to use iSpyNow when he was living at home and could log his conversations and such. However, now that he is away we can’t do that…and yes I realize they have remote keyloggers and spy software (I have looked at it ALL!!!), but I would prefer not to take that route. I don’t want to have to install some kind of file on his computer and I don’t want to have to send some kind of attachment via email. The only information that’s really necessary is his AIM conversations. Now, I do have his password to his AIM account…and I CAN sign on his screen name. I also can see every message that someone types to him when I am on the same time as him…however, it brings up the message saying that the screen name is signed on at 2 locations.
My question is: Is there any way to sign on to his screen name (while he is on) and have that message disabled, so that he doesn’t know someone else is on his screen name? OR…is the any possible way to view his conversations…with the information that I have (his password)?
Please don’t try to comment on my personal life though, people…please…if you have any ideas, please reply, but I really don’t feel like hearing the “you need to get a life and quit spying on your son”…when the reality is…I have to…for his own well being…but he can’t know about it, or find out that I am doing it…
Anyone that can possibly help, please do so. Thanks in advance!

MemberI don’t think that there’s anyway to do that, and I think that if he keeps seeing the “You are Signed on in 2 Locations” thing, he might change his password. Just…fairwarning, you know? Other than that, there are programs that you can buy that allows you to log onto another computer from YOUR computer. Maybe that would help you? I’d do a google on what it’s called.

Memberyou would think there would be a way to atleast disable that message or somehow get conversations if you have their password

The AIM/OSCAR Protocol was not designed to allow for someone to ‘spy’ on a user from a remote location, thankfully. I wouldn’t ‘think’ that a programmer would be foolish enough to allow something like that. At least AOL still has a sense of privacy.
There is no way to do this without something installed on the remote machine, sorry.

Memberyeah but I can see the messages if I sign on at the same time. that’s not very private if you think about it.

Sure, but at least they know you are on, and can kick you off. =)

Memberyeah, anyone have any alternate suggestions? is there any remote program that can be installed without physically being there? I know some are sent thru emails as .exe files that have to be opened, is there anything like that just for AIM?

ParticipantWhat you are asking for is a trojan horse, and thus illegal. Discussing such things is prohibited on this forum, no matter what your reason. If you want a trojan, ask somewhere else.
