well I talked to my friend today and he said that there was some way to get aim logs using cookies on your computer…just incase your kid was kidnapped by some person that they met online…does anybody know how to do this?
Nope. Unless you have a program that is recording AIM logs, you cannot.
Yeah I don’t think thats possible unless it gets saved on AOL’s server. Although when you send an IM it sends a packet to the other computer so that may be saved somewhere but I really don’t know about that.
the idea is basically that aim doesnt use cookies. internet browsers use them to save settings for easier surfing, but IM clients dont use them. if you want to log aim conversations, there are several add-ons that can do this. off the top of my head, I know deadaim can keep logs (of course its no longer free, and the free version doesnt work with the newest aim, so its up to you if you want to spend $5), and there are a few others, just search BBB for “logging”
If you need a logger, search google for GoodAIM. It is a good logger that is not intergerated into AIM.
