MemberNew AIM add-on… Go here http://middleman.krunchsoftware.com/download.php
Features:
-Ad Removal: This is the same with all the plugins going around. You’re able to remove everything except the actually buddylist. Right now we’re still working out some kinks in this, but for the most part it works all the same.-Cloning:This feature allows you to run multiple instances of AIM and sign on different screen names at the same time. If you’re familar with AIM+, our cloning works the same.
-Logging IMs: Currently only IMs are logged. Soon we will expand the logging to all events (away, idle, sign on,sign off), chat rooms, and direct connection files.
-Offline Profiles: – Don’t you hate it when your buddy signs off and you want to see what their profile said, well now middle_man will keep a copy of it for you that you can view anytime you want.
-Buddy Aliases: You’ll be able to change “jjacob212” to “John T.”, and actually see these new names instead of their screen names in your buddy list, IM windows, chat rooms, profiles, and basically anywhere else you would see their screen name. New suggestions are coming in daily for these, so they are subject to change.
-Window Transparency: Will allow you to make your buddy list and IM windows see-thru. This feature is set for enhancement, get your suggestions in.
-Away Message Groups: If you’ve ever wanted a rotating away message, now you got it. You can set your away message to be a group, and at specific intervals the next one will become your away message.
-Idle Control: Now you finally have the ability to be “idle” whenever and for however long you want. No more waiting 10 minutes without using your computer. You can set yourself to be idle for basically any period of time, and still IM, chat and use your computer as much as you want. Other idle features include automatically setting yourself as idle as soon as you sign on as well as being idle for a “constant” time (meaning, for example, you could always be idle for 35 minutes).
-Commands: You can send commands to anyone you’re talking to, and middle_man will execute the command and never send the IM to your buddy. So you could send “/away I’m away right now”, and middle_man will set you as away with “I’m away right now”. This will help people who like quick access to things.
-Remote Control: Say you leave your screen name signed on and then go over to your friend’s house. Accidentally you forgot to put up an away message. Using this feature, you can IM your screen name from your friend’s account, log in with a password, then put up an away message. You could also change your away message, as well as get all the IMs that people have sent you while you were away. Eventually, everything you can do with our program will be accessable remotely.
-Talking While Away:Now you can set your away message, and continue talking to people with it staying up. This will not send your autoresponse to people everytime!
-Scripting: This is a small feature right now but is rapidly gaining importance. At the moment, you can put special variable names or function names into your profile/away message and they will be automatically updated whenever necessary. So far, you can have the number of IMs you’ve received while away as well as the number of people who have IMed you while you’re away all placed dynamically into your profile or away message. Eventually a whole host of functions and variables will be implemented, as I think of ones that would be worthwhile.
-Ghosting: With the new AIM beta, AOL introduced invisibility. Well now with middle_man, you can go invisible on any screen name on any version of AIM.
-Remove Yourself from Another Buddylist: Sometimes people IM you, and you don’t even know them and don’t want to talk to them. Now instead of blocking them… you can just take yourself off of their buddylist.
-Always On Top: AIM started this with their buddylist, but never followed through with the rest of the windows. Now you’ll be able to keep your IM conversations on top of the rest at all times.
BTW, THIS FREE.

MemberIt works just fine for me. If it had tabbed-IMs, I would probably keep it. Also, I am not finding this remove yourself from someone else’s buddy list. Other than that, it isn’t bad.

MemberMiddle Man has been posted on here some time ago, but that was before beta 2 I guess. So good for a refresher now that Beta 2 is out. I have seen the cannot sign on to AIM thing before when using middle man..when I had that problem, I just uninstalled both middle man and AIM and reinstalled them, and they worked fine.
As for the remove yourself from someones buddy list..you just have an IM window open to the person you want yourself removed from your list and type /removeme (as if typing it to them) and presto! you are nolonger on their buddy list.December 24, 2003 at 7:29 am #52056Hurricane22491
MemberIf you use this program with DeadAIM, it will have both of the programs features, which is pretty cool. I have DeadAIM 4.0 and it works just fine with this. And I haven’t had a problem with signing onto AIM either.

MemberAgreed, DeadAIM does work with middle man as well, DeadAIM will give you the Tabbed Windows, as Middle Man is still working on tabbed windows, which will be in a later version. Pretty much the rest of the features that DeadAIM has, Middle Man already has, or have been already stuck into AIM itself (pop-up notifications).

MemberWow that does sound good, but it seems like it’s almost the same as Dead AIM, anyone know which is better?

MemberIf you want to remove yourself from someone’s buddy list, you just have to type in /remove and then it should take you off.
