but what would be the point, den? Give me one good reason why I should make the effort!
😀
well leapy it gives you a better score to shoot for. thats te point of the games right ? to compete
May 23, 2007 at 6:40 pm #161106Leapy LeoMemberIt’s easy to talk with such enthusiasm of “competing” when you are winning almost if not everything you are competing for. That’s not having a go at you, den, it’s just pointing out that competing gets abit ah, stale, when you know that whatever score you achieve there’s somebody on the Arcade who will inevitably overtake it within two days {at the most} and leave you back where you started and so it would continue if you did manage to win it back.
The one high score I managed to get this month was mysteriously deleted. I just can’t win, it seems. Boo hoo…:crying:
May 23, 2007 at 8:16 pm #161072GandalfMemberSome people get their kicks by cheating. 🙁

May 24, 2007 at 1:03 am #161121den44057Memberwell GANDALF do you think that maybe just maybe that person with the 17 scores can play arcade games and be good enough to get them without cheating?
May 24, 2007 at 2:33 am #161071FanaticMemberI gotta admit, it looks bad to me, too. And if even if he’s not cheating, he sure is spoiling the fun for everyone else. What’s the point of trying for the high score when you-know-who is going to beat it within a day?
May 26, 2007 at 11:43 am #161107Leapy LeoMemberIs there a problem with sizing at Arcade at the moment because in Breakout, Pacman, Asteroids and Iceberg I have noticed that the games no longer quite fit the screen properly so there are always parts of the game that I cannot see! It makes playing them properly pretty difficult.
May 26, 2007 at 5:28 pm #161067Jeff HesterKeymasterI just played Breakout and Pacman and didn’t see any problem whatsoever. Can you take a screenshot to show us the problem?
May 26, 2007 at 6:15 pm #161108Leapy LeoMemberWhat is a screenshot?
On Breakout I can’t see the whole of the screen so that I either have to lose the top blocks or the cursor; I can’t see both at once.
On Pacman it does allow you to move the screen up and down but this is a distraction when you are trying to avoid Inkey, Pinkey, Clyde and [sorry, I’ve forgot the name of the last one].

Open your browser to one of the games that you’re having a problem with, hit the PrntScrn key on your keyboard, then open an image editing program (MS Paint will do), and hit ctrl+v (or Edit > Paste), and save the image.
If you don’t have a photobucket/flickr account or any sort of online service to upload pictures, you can use ImageShack® – Hosting
I’m assuming your problem viewing the games might just be that you’re running your desktop at a very low resolution (800×600 or lower).
May 26, 2007 at 11:14 pm #161068Jeff HesterKeymasterHere is a screenshot of the Breakout game, viewing the site in IE7 at a resolution of 1024×768. As you can see, there’s no problem viewing the game at all.
Nothing has changed at the site that would suddenly make certain games not fit the screen.
May 27, 2007 at 1:47 am #161080DavidParticipantHmm… maybe we need something to dynamically resize those games.
