You may have seen my announcement in the Forum Support forum. I’ve got a new web server and will be migrating BigBlueBall over to it sometime before the end of the month.
This should be a little peppier, but I’m also using the opportunity to do some housecleaning and get everything running properly again.
You can help. What’s on your “Damn Jeff, why don’t you fix THIS” list?
April 27, 2011 at 10:58 pm #177317FanaticMemberUPDATE: I’ve migrated everything to the new server… in fact, if you’re reading this post, you are LOOKING at the new server (it’s not on the old server).
The name server changes were submitted about an hour ago, and should propogate throughout the Internet within the next 20 hours (or sooner).
I haven’t had a chance to test extensively, so please kick the tires and let me know if you find stuff that’s broken.
Jeff

Thanks!

Do you have any plans to make any changes to drive more conversation? Now that the spam is gone there seems to be quite a lull in activity 🙁

Yes, I’m going to do some promotions beginning at the end of July. I want to do some upgrades first and get everything in top shape.
I’m looking at a contest as well as some targeted advertising. Do you have ideas or suggestions?
April 28, 2011 at 11:28 pm #177323Doris KenneyParticipantYay! Tapatalk loves BBB now!
I’ll think on ideas. My favorite is security, of course, but that’s not what the site is about so….

In general I do. It makes seeing the newest posts quick and easy, and it seems faster than Safari (but that could be just my imagination.) With moderation it will be even better – although for one-touch ban etc. I do use the full site (generally on the computer). I rarely/never use Safari to access BBB.
Why couldn’t we cover security?
Well I guess we certainly could if you think it will get some more traffic. It’s certainly a topic applicable to most everyone on some level.
April 29, 2011 at 6:30 am #177314Jeff HesterKeymasterOkay, I just loaded the Tapatalk app on my iPad to give it a try. I use it on my iPhone, but generally prefer to view the full website, even on my iPad.
But this isn’t bad.
May 8, 2011 at 3:49 am #177320NessaParticipantI still have the same issue of not being apply to post unless I use the “Post Quick Reply” option on IE8.
May 12, 2011 at 12:40 pm #177315Jeff HesterKeymasterI also have that problem using IE9 on Win7.
