Recently I got an offline message from one of my contacts. The language was in portugese and had a link telling me about a card. I clicked on the link and it took me to a site that had some gif on it.
Next thing I know all my online contacts “message boxes” are popping up and sending that fraudulent link to them then closes down the message box.
Now everytime I log it it sends the same message to my online contacts.
Does anyone know anything about this WLM virus?
Never heard of it but it goes to show you shouldn’t click on link’s from your contacts unless you can verify they sent it to you by actually asking them. By the way if you haven’t done so I suggest creating a new account as you do not want to keep spreading whatever it is around. Just a tip.

That, and you can also scan your pc for viruses/trojans with a good antivirus software to get rid of the Portuguese junk. Which one do you have? I suggest AVG or Kaspersky Internet Security, both very effective and powerful.
Don’t forget that you can also scan your comp for viruses online, Trend Micro is one of the best virus scanning websites out there.
