Does anyone here know if you’llbe able to skin the “friend’s window” in the new version?
Can anyone explain why that moved away from that?
I still use 5.5 and have unistalled and gone back to it when I find the new versions have the hex based window background. I like using a jpg as a background.
I think background images would make it much more popular. People can have pics of their kids, grandkids, vacations, sweethearts whatever. I’d also like to see a plugin that randomizes them like the one for winamp.
You are not alone, that is for sure. I have made quite a few skins for versions 6 and 7, and that is one of the most popular questions. I’m not sure why Yahoo took away the ability to use pictures for the background of the buddy list. In version 7 they did add the ability to change the color from white to something else, but still no pics. As for whether they will ever bring that feature back, no one knows. I along with many other people have sent emails asking about this, but all we ever get back is the canned response that basically says, “Currently you cannot make your own skins for Yahoo Messenger.”

Thanks for the reply. That’s all I have every gotten back also. I then get the customer service quality review. I saw your skin site and left you a shout. My is no where near as colorful as some of the other comments 😉
Anyway if you ever get info on background images or who we can email about it post it please…
