Yahoo apparently made some other changes to the protocol yesterday, and until Cerulean Studios comes out with a patch, you won’t be able to connect to Yahoo through Trillian. You can read more about it here: Yahoo Changes Trash Trillian

MemberYahoo! conned us programmers.
Yahoo! Messenger has two (possibly even more) authentication mechanisms built in, and has for a long time. Recent protocol changes have just involved a change in the packet style, and a little change in the authentication, with it mostly being the same style.
Even after the YMSG9 protocol was killed, YMSG10 and YMSG11 was still using the original authentication for a few hours. Then, the method changed! No one knows what the method it is I don’t think, and so it’s going to take time for people to work out. Basically, in that few hours I we wrote my own Yahoo! login, to find out the next day I had wasted time – just like Trillian wrote patches, fooled too.
Trillian say there is a patch for the pro, but not yet for the basic.

Memberyahoo is now using a rolling authentication decription it chages and is updated as messneger connects to the internet. they just went from a static type authentication to a dynamic that is all..its about time yahoo did something about the third party programs out there..this has all but completey stopped booters making chat safe again..

MemberThe previous authentication was secure enough, this change has come just to get rid of 3rt party software.

MemberWhat do I base that on?? Hmmm….let’s see….Mr. CHEEKY….the fact that many other messengers are cracking down on things, i.e. MSN just closing down their chat and starting anew with moderators and paying a fee. The fact that when so many LAMERS screw things up for the rest of us, Yahoo! simpley removes anything that has to do with it, rather than deal with the people causing the problems. I have a right to “FEEL” what I want….if that’s not a good enough answer….you can shove your tongue somewhere else.
