MemberThis video shows the new “Nintendo Revolution” from the perspective of a fan. You should check out the video. And you should fast foward the video to about 3:20 because the first 3 minutes and 20 seconds are a waste of time.

ParticipantI find that very hard to believe. Is this an official video? It’s almost too cool to be true. And I thought the Xbox 360 looked cool…
But wow, a virtual reality helmet. Don’t you think you would have to play it in a pretty big room? What if you ran into a wall?

I mean, that’s pretty dang awesome, but I think that might cause problems too.May 14, 2005 at 11:03 pm #121919ys8er2323
MemberAlot of kids will be walking around with bruised foreheads lol.

ParticipantI highly doubt that any console manufacturer would design a product where the in-game X-Y movement is determined by your actual X-Y movement, simply because the space that is required for the game to be played safely would be unobtainable for most people. Not only that, but it is too dangerous to walk around blindly in order to play a game. I do, however, think that it is possible that the view would be based on a helmet, where you can rotate your head to the side and see a different view of the game. Although this video doesn’t’ look too official.

KeymasterI saw this yesterday. It’s already been confirmed that the video is not of the real Nintendo Revolution. It was simply made by a Nintendo fanatic doing a mock-up of it and as you can see, he did quite a very believable job on it. It’s not real though. The official information is that the cube will be able to stand up as other consoles are now doing and will be the size of about three dvd cases.
The Virtual Reality thing would never work as opposed to real controllers due to motion sickness, and as you saw that “make games” part in that video pretty much says it’s fake.

MemberIf no one remembers, Nintendo tried to come out with a product like this before and it flopped. The virtual reality type helmet gave people headaches when they played for longer than 30 minutes, and the controls were horrid. They wont be attempting to pull off something like that again until wayyy in the future.

KeymasterThey’ve finally shown what the Nintendo Revolution looks like. The only info about it is that you will be able to purchase and download all the old NES, SNES, N64 games and play them on the system.

MemberThe video clip of the fake version seemed really cool, but the music was scary! I had to turn my speakers down. However, the articles of the real E3 2005 or whatever it’s called, those look cool too.
If you purchase the new game system, it seems you won’t be able to play old games that you already have on it, as it only supports DVD/CD-like games on it. That really stinks. Of course, the people of Nintendo will want money for downloading old games off the net. Go figure.
Perhaps if there is some kind of code on the old game, the user of the new entertainment system could type the code on a website, and he/she should be granted to download the game for free. No need to pay for something twice!
Overall, the game sounds hot! I’m excited for all of you Nintendo fans out there.

KeymasterI’m pretty disappointed. They basically said nothing about the new system and they keep the controller a big secret. It will be able to play GameCube games (the small mini disk things). I’m more excited for this new Legend Of Zelda which looks so cool *snorts*. I’m such a nerd.
