The audibles don’t work on the new yahoo messenger I downloaded. There is a blank strip in the middle of the conversation window where they should be. When I click on get more audibles, nothing happens. Other people apparently have them, could somebody please help?
As far as I know, they aren’t available yet. I haven’t seen any sign of the Audibles either. If someone does have them, perhaps they can post here to verify if they are available or not.

ok ive added all my messneger medium username and im currently at this moment signed into all of them id be willing to help if either one of you contact me.
But the radio and audibles DO work. The audibles take a few minutes to load. Faizan and I were checking them out this afternoon. They are some kinda freaky. Now apparently the radio crashes on some people, or “doesn’t work”. It seems to lag a bit at first, or between songs, but I do assure you it does work. Just remember all. It’s a BETA.. expect things not to work when you wan’t them to 😉
I have broadband and a really good computer, it says “loading”, but they never appear, even after hours.
What operating system do you have, and what browser do you use? I found that the avatar builder doesn’t work right in Mozilla Firefox, for example.
I believe they load in Java. I also found that Yahoo doesn’t work well with any other default browser other than IE.
I’m using Windows XP Pro, and I have no problem with the Avatar builder. I have IE 6, Mozilla and Netscape installed. Audibles area is completely empty. Launchcast freezes Y!M when I try to launch it. Any suggestions?
Shifter, I’m also using XP Pro with both IE 6 and Firefox installed, and both Audibles and LAUNCHcast work great. They load almost instantly. Could it be a regional problem? A restriction based on what country Yahoo thinks you’re in?
For what it’s worth, I’m using Yahoo! Messenger Beta version 6.0.0.1555
yeah works fine on me and im using dialup:D . The radio works hella fine. How bout flash? I think the Audibles are Flashes…not sure…
same here, I am on win xp, cable, with I.E. 6 and mozilla…no problems. I have used launchcast in the past and have never had any problems with it. On the beta, although I believe it is defaulted to enable them, there is an option to allow the use of audibles…Messenger/preferences/messages

(and yes folks, that is how I find a lot of my info..i create the problem for myself to find the fix..) as far as them being flash…most browsers have the macromedia flash player plug-in installed..if you don’t or are not sure…you can get it for Internet Explorer here and for Netscape here.Another quick question though…have you tried a custom uninstall of the beta and then a fresh reinstall? It may have been a bad download, especially if you just installed over the previous version rather than uninstalling the old one first even though its not necessary to do so.
***edited I still haven’t found any setting in Internet Explorer that prevents them from loading. I did however go digging around and found this info from Yahoo’s Page: You have to have the current Macromedia Flash Player 6.0 installed – they will not work with older plug-ins.
