MemberI have seen this question posted in a few different message boards, but haven’t seen any replies. Any help would be appreciated. When I use the Yahoo Advance Search and choose the “show those online only” button, I am getting no returns. I am trying searches in a way that I know should return online members. While there are no returns, the “Next” and “Previous” links on the return page are active showing me that somewhere in the background it is finding results but they just aren’t appearing. I have had others try and they do get the results. One person is able to use dial up and get returns but can’t get any on the cable connection (which I have, too). If anyone has dealt with (or knows anybody who has) with this problem, please help. Any info. would be most helpful…. Thanks………

MemberI’ve had this happen also. The best thing to do is do your search through the Yahoo Member Directory. That has worked well for me in the past. 😉

MemberThe Yahoo Member Directory is where this is happening. The advance search in the member directory is where you can choose to only see returns of those who are online. Any ideas on that?
Thanks
Kevin

MemberSorry, I thought maybe you were using the search through the Yahoo Message box. That hardly ever works for me, but the other seems to fine. 😉

MemberOK…..I’ve narrowed it down to this. There is something in the relationship between my AT&T Broadband connection and Yahoo. It is not my firewall….I can get online member results at other computers…I can’t get online returns when another computer is hooked to my AT&T connection. I found someone in Texas who is having the same problem, but he has a cable connection through a local provider there. I feel that it is something with Yahoo relating to the AT&T server I’m coming off of. Any thoughts?

MemberI have the EXACT same problem. I am on a Comcast cable modem in Michigan. I really have no clue what it is, except that it has something to do with my cable modem. I am going to try to do some port forwarding in my router setup and hope that does something. BTW, ive deleted every cookie thinking that might help, it didnt. I also contacted yahoo but they are no help at all. This really bugs me!

MemberOK!! Ifigured it out.
You have to use a proxy server to connect to that website.
This is the one i use:
106.red-80-58-4.pooles.rima-tde.net
use port 80
This should work.
This website has a list of servers, if the above doesnt work:
